Badgley Mischka is an American fashion label. Many may think it is one person but in fact, it is two designers – Mark Badgley and James Mischka, who married in 2013 after 28 years together.
Mark Badgley, born in 1961, is a Missouri native and James Mischka, born 1960, hails from the state of Wisconsin. James Mischka actually attended Rice University where he studied biomedical engineering and ended up graduating in 1985 with degrees in art history and managerial studies.
The couple met when both were students at Parson’s School of Design in New York City.
After school, Badgley spent time designing for Donna Karan, while Mischka worked for WilliWear. The couple paired up and launched their own label in 1988. In 1993 they launched their Bridal Line, which also includes lavish shoes and handbags.
In an interview with fineclothing.com, James Mischka stated, “Our style harks back to the glamorous Hollywood of the forties. The Badgley Mischka signature style is simple, streamlined, and thoroughly elegant.” The bridal line’s Instagram account states “Badgley Mischka Bride; Blending contemporary style with Old Hollywood glamour.”

I checked out their Bridal Instagram account. WOW doesn't begin to cover it. Such gorgeous gowns but more than the gowns, I was fascinated by their shoes.
I love learning a little more (sometimes a lot) about designers whose names I've known for years!
Beautiful designs -- and I must admit, I hadn't known it was two people. Trivia-building!
Such cool designs. I once tried to sew a chic tweedy boss-lady type dress and jacket from one of their Vogue pattern designs...it did not end well. (I am the most basic of seamstesses!)
